RAAF 707 does last flights over Sydney

A Hercules in silouette as it went over my head on another round of circuits

today i went to the RAAF base at Richmond to see the last of the 707s on its final flights over the Sydney city and basin.
my son and i had actually been on this or another of the fleet about 12-15 years ago when a crew member took us on board one visiting weekend and allowed us to photograph

my poor little camera struggled for these shots as they were from a good distance........but never the less i have pics and they are MINE and i did it .
spent about 5 hours in total watching the 707 do two take offs and landings, a Hercules do circuits and an American plane go out and back........and eating hamburger

anyway ........a beautiful day marred only by the fact i had nothing like the lens of the other people there to capture these pics :-(

a couple of very pale and sort of pretty soaps

this pinky one has some silver mica mixed into the top just to add some colour

these are from last weekend
they all have a much larger amount of goats milk and coconut milk, than usual in them and this has affected the colour and made them somewhat tending to a beigey grey colour..........but that is ok.
they feel great

this one has some sago sprinkled on top for a bit of decoration.
usually i put it all thro the soap as a scrubby effect



and the bottom one has some poppy seed just for sprinkles

when we arrived in New Delhi the driver parked the bus in the grounds of the "Y"
many of us couldnt afford the cost of a room so slept on the bus. it was this guards job to keep us, the great unwashed, out of the lovely clean bathrooms of the Y unless we were paying.
we won mostly and got lovely showers

a Mosque inm i think Shiraz which was a most wonderful city.
i am more sad about the loss of the colour in these pics than the loss of any other i think.

Long ago and far away I did some travel

recently i have had the slides i took of some of this time, transferred to CD

the pics are essentially not good quality......what can i exepct after 40 years of neglecting them.??

these few are worth showing simply because they show the world as it was then.........a very different place. many of which places are no longer easily travelled like they were then.
i spent 4 years out of the country at the time

the photos are obviously not in sequence ........but then neither is my brain today.:-)
i am glad i finally did something about getting these images off the old and poor quality slides

THE bus i took from London to New Delhi. After which i took a plane to Thailand and then a train thro Malaysia to Singapore. A plane from Singapore to Sydney
me and about 30 others lived on nothing a day and slept on that bus most nights.!!
