No more soap sales + being copied

I have discontinued soap sales, at least temporarily. I have had a lot of fun over 18 years making soap and meeting so many other interesting people. Thank you everyone .
Maybe I will get back to it again later, but meanwhile I will be making only for personal use and gifting..

this plant is called here "Mothers in law tongue"
i never could grow it ....but found heaps of it elsewhere.
it is long, sharp and pointed

odd lighing but nearly right colour soap

this is nearly the right colour to match the jacaranda trees out right now.
the lighting is less than optimal ...but it was one of those days !!

no posting for a while

life has been somewhat of a hassle.

i had 2 sessions of having steroids into my spine and another, last week, of steroids into the top of my leg. i resort to steroids when i am desperate and after 6 months ......i was.

i await the outcome of the latter as the former didnt help.
i am a tiny bit hopeful. the dog is also hopeful of returning to longer walks more often

i have had endless massages and acupunctures not to count the physiotherapy.
i am still very unbalanced. i am costing the Medicare system a fortune....and my own bank balance is depleted
but i am worth it i think LOL

i am now hoping i will develop enough capacity to actually spend a week away in about a month.
i dont want to miss out as i did last year.
this lack of balance thing is a total bore and very tiring

i finally managed to get the floor in the bedroom area done . it has been lying around in an ugly cement look after i asked son to seal it after we pulled up the carpet i hated. i actually wanted a cement floor ....really LOL.
son did a dreadful job on it and then i got sick and i didnt find the power to organise the floating floor like i have in the living areas, til about a month ago.

unlike the people who did the first lot of floor, this man and his crew were a dream.
nothing was too much trouble and they were competant and professional.
and put the furniture back in the right places. what more could i ask ??

anyway i am hoping this years bad stuff is about to cease. spring is here and i need to get my camera out for some pics before all the blossoms disappear

i actually made it to a 6 hour class in beading last week. i didnt actually want to do two of the projects that the teacher had for us (pearls) and fortunately had taken some old jools of my mothers that i wanted to do something with and a couple of other necklaces that i wanted to update/upgrade

i didnt do what i wanted...which would have involved a lot of 18 ct gold for starters.... but i got Mums old jools into a usable format or my purposes.

this is what i started with..........seems like turquise chips set into some sort of perhaps Fimo .
i cant recall my mother wearing this jewellery so it is pretty old...mimimum of 60 years

lacking any other ideas and having a huge number of turquise chips on a string, i put the two together at the classes suggestion

i think that i will not a beadmaker make. i know i have no patience for the small details necessary for this sort of work ....and anyway i dont want to be selling them and there is a limit to what i will wear myself......or give away. however it was fun to do and i was very happy that i was well enough to manage to do it. that was a win

how i feel

i bought this puppet one day, about 6 months ago, when at the local hospital doing what i had hoped might be some useful rehab work on my balance

the puppet pretty much represents me then.... and now

some plants and trees i have seen

these two plants are in the deck garden of the worlds most beautifully situated cafe where i sometimes go for a great hamburger beside the water...... where the sea planes come in. the prices are amazingly good so if i tell where it is i will have to kill u as i dont want the place over run

this is just a found leaf whose colour appealed to me

a local gum tree with spider web

a gum tree in the local school grounds (and dog)

another couple of trees in the school grounds

a couple of plants on the Great Ocean Road
